Oban Backpackers becomes many people’s favorite hostel on their travels thanks to its excellent roomy facilities and beautiful seaside town setting.

This hostel has a huge cosy living area with a pool table around which many a triumphant Scottish battle has been won! When you happen to lose your ninth game in a row you can rest your weary heart next to the roaring log fire, and make lovely new friends who won’t laugh at your pool playing abilities.

Oban is a picturesque town possessing spectacular views across to the Hebridean islands that are simply stunning. In particular, the view at dusk from McCaig's Tower provides a sunset you are unlikely to forget.

Like any small port, there is a lot going on in Oban; the bustle of fishing boats, ferries, yachts and seabirds make the waterfront a lovely place to be.

The port is also a transport hub for boat trips to the many beautiful Scottish isles should you wish to explore the more remote areas of Scotland. Ancient standing stones are to be found all over the Oban area, as well as morerecent structures such as medieval castles and whisky distilleries.

Oban Backpackers is a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations and the famous MacBackpackers Jump-on Jump- bus leaves from right outside the front door when you’re ready to move on!
